The Barnyard
The Barnyard is designed as a relaxing place for visitors to enjoy watching and learning about farm life; it is not a petting zoo. Sheep, chickens, horses, goats and other domestic livestock are house in a portion of the Erie County Ohio Bicentennial Barn, which is located adjacent to outdoor pastures. Scheduled nature, environmental and historical programs are also held at The Barnyard from time to time.
The many farm animals living at The Barnyard are owned and cared for by a dedicated volunteer. For the health and safety of the animals and their visitors, the farm animals are on display only and are not available to touch or hold without staff supervision.
Please do not feed the animals. They are all on their own particular designated diet and variance from the routine may make them sick.
Animals are rotated in outdoor fields and depending on the day of your visit, you may see gentle horses grazing or frisky sheep and goats playing tag. Each visit to The Barnyard is a new and unique experience.
